Saoirse Ronan stars in this epic love-story adapted from Twilight author Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel. In the future, Earth has been overtaken by a parasitic race of aliens called Souls, who have possessed the minds of nearly every human on the planet. Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is one of the last remaining human survivors. Whilst out scavenging for food, she comes into contact with fellow survivor Jared (Max Irons), with whom she falls in love. However when Melanie is captured by the Souls, she is taken over by an alien presence called Wanderer. The invaders aim to access her memories and discover where the survivors are hiding. However, Melanie's soul unexpectedly remains active within the host body, forming an unexpected connection between human and alien. Author Stephenie Meyer co-produces this highly anticipated adaptation of her hit novel. The Host is set to be the next teen-movie sensation following the blockbusting success of the Twilight franchise.
