The Light Between Oceans


Tom is a World War I veteran who maintains a lighthouse off the shore of Australia with his wife Isabel, a woman desperate to have a baby. This female-fronted comedy about life and love is set in New York City. When Alice (Johnson) is faced with singledom, Robin (Wilson) teaches her how to let her hair down. The film follows their friendship, as well as the stories of Meg (Mann), who makes the decision to get pregnant via an anonymous sperm donor, and Lucy (Brie), a woman obsessed with online dating. Ultimately, it leaves you wanting more Mann (so hilarious is her performance), though the message of self-love is welcome and well-receieved.

The Danish Girl


The Danish Girl is based on a true, historical novel which tells the story of Lili (Eddie Redmayne), who was originally called Einar, a landscape painter who discovered she was a woman after posing in women's clothes for her wife. 

With the support of wife Gerda (Alicia Vikander) Einar had one of the first gender reassignment surgeries in the world, and lived out the rest of her life as Lili Elbe.

And if the superstar leading cast and exciting plot aren't enough, the film is being directed by Tom Hooper, who was also in the director's chair for Les Miserables and The King's Speech. So it's fair to say audiences are expecting something pretty special!
