This afternoon in Llandudno I have been to see Elysium.
Matt Damon leads an assault on the ruling elite in this thrilling sci-fi spectacular from the director of 'District 9'. In 2154, the gap between the haves and the have-nots has never been wider. The privileged few live on a giant orbiting space station called Elysium, where there is no war, no poverty and no illness. The rest of humanity scrape by on the ravaged hellhole that is planet Earth. When Matt De Costa (Matt Damon) is exposed to radiation, he has just five days to live. His only hope is to get to Elysium - the most heavily guarded place in the universe! If he succeeds, Matt could also restore equality to the human race. But Elysium's Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster) has a secret weapon: the terrifying mercenary Kruger (Sharlto Copley). 'District 9' director Neill Blomkamp benefits from a much bigger budget for this latest distinctive blend of sci-fi action and biting social commentary.
