US Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) is on his third tour of duty in Iraq. After a night raid he finds something in the rubble - a photograph of a beautiful young woman. When nobody claims it, he keeps the picture with him and credits this lucky charm with his continued survival. Back home in the US, he learns the woman's name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and tracks her down to North Carolina.
