300: Rise Of An Empire

The Greeks and Persians take their spectacular conflict to sea in the epic follow-up to '300'. More than 30 years before the events of '300', the Greeks and Persians clash at the pivotal Battle of Marathon. Still a young man, the future Persian God King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) mourns the death of his father as he falls under the influence of feisty, ambitious naval commander Artemisia (Eva Green). She witnessed her entire family being slaughtered and now burns for vengeance. Meanwhile, general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) sets out to bring together the disunited Greek nation states and avenge the death of King Leonidas. The stage is set for a breathtaking sea battle! Adapted from Frank Miller's latest graphic novel, the blood-soaked 'Rise of an Empire' is told in the same vivid, kinetic style as its predecessor. It also unfolds on a larger canvas, taking in battles before, after and parallel to those of '300'.

Robocop

But being half-man and half-machine brings unique challenges. Brazilian director Jose Padilha has assembled a brilliant cast for his skilful, action-packed update of Paul Verhoeven's eighties dystopian masterpiece.

The Wolf Of Wall Street

Last Vegas

Unresolved issues between them soon bubble to the surface too. 'National Treasure' director Jon Turteltaub's brilliantly cast comedy brings together four Oscar-winning screen legends for a feast of senior misbehaviour!

Blue Jasmine

Cate Blanchett stars in Woody Allen's acclaimed drama about a newly penniless socialite attempting to rebuild her life.

Sophisticated, elegant New Yorker Jasmine (Cate Blanchett) used to have it all. But then it turned out that her businessman husband Hal (Alec Baldwin) was a swindler. So now Jasmine is broke and on her own with a head full of Xanax and Stoli. She heads for San Francisco and the modest apartment where her non-biological sister Ginger (Sally Hawkins) lives. But the neurotic, hard-drinking interloper struggles to adjust to her lowly station in life. She also loudly disapproves of her sister's new boyfriend, Chili (Bobby Cannavale), branding him as big a loser as Ginger's ex-hubby, Augie (Andrew Dice Clay). Woody Allen continues his current purple patch with this delicious and often very funny character study. Cate Blanchett is on top regal form as the brittle and myopic Jasmine, who is the unwitting agent of her own downfall.

Carrie

The classic original is a frightening yet deeply poignant story of a teenager whose supernatural abilities lead to tragedy. And now, the 2013 version promises to introduce the story to a whole new generation. One thing's for certain - you will know her name!
