3D - Thor

Tonight I have been to see 3D - Thor
The mighty Thor is the latest Marvel Comics superhero to make a big noise on the big screen - in colossal 3D.
A warrior of great strength, yet impetuous and foolish, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is son of the all-powerful Odin (Anthony Hopkins), who rules the gods in his kingdom of Asgard. When Thor's arrogance reignites an ancient war, he is exiled to Earth as punishment. Here he meets a young scientist named Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who strives to understand the enigmatic stranger. Gifted with the strength of a god and a hammer only he can wield, Thor still needs to learn wisdom. So when his dark brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) sends his minions to invade Earth, it's time for Thor to decide what he truly wants to be - a reckless warrior god, or defender of his new home? Director Kenneth Branagh provides stunning visuals and breathtaking action sequences as the hammer-wielding Thor explodes into battle.

Arthur

Tonight I have been to see Arthur.
This remake of the fondly remembered Dudley Moore comedy stars Russell Brand as a hapless billionaire who must choose between love and money.
Arthur Bach (Russell Brand) is an irresponsible playboy - despite the fact that he's been told what to do all his life. The culprits are his stern mother (Geraldine James), his housekeeper Hobson (Helen Mirren), and now, much to his dismay, his new bride-to-be Susan (Jennifer Garner). Arthur has been ordered to marry Susan, or suffer the consequences of disobedience - a new life, cut off from all his wealth and privilege. But Arthur doesn't love Susan, and has instead fallen for Naomi (Greta Gerwig), a woman with no money but a good heart. With Russell Brand in hilarious form, it's time to find out which choice Arthur will make. Can he choose love - and lose the safety net his money provides? Or will he settle for marriage to the terrifying Susan?

Fast & Furious 5

Tonight I have been to see Fast & Furious 5.
Start your engines for the latest installment of the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise.
Wrestling legend Dwayne Johnson joins the crew for this new adventure, playing the ruthless federal agent Luke Hobbs, now on the trail of ex-cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). Brian has broken Dom out of prison, and joined him as they race across borders in an effort to avoid capture. Cornered in Brazil, the fugitive racers and their allies know that they need to pull off one last job if they are ever to gain their freedom, both from the law and the criminal syndicate they have angered. But with a corrupt businessman determined to see them dead, and a relentless agent hot on their tail, the odds are not in their favour! Hitting the gas has never been more vital than in this turbo-charged action thriller.

Red Riding Hood

Tonight I have been to see Red Riding Hood

Amanda Seyfried stars in a dark and romantic reimagining of the classic tale.
The people of Daggerhorn have long maintained a truce with the werewolf that stalks their woods. Every month they sacrifice an animal in the hope that the wolf will depart with its thirst for blood quenched. One of Daggerhorn's inhabitants is Valerie (Amanda Seyfried), a young girl who is in love with the brooding woodcutter Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), even though she has been promised to the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Her plans to run away with Peter are shattered when the wolf kills her older sister. Suddenly everything has changed. Famed werewolf hunter Father Solomon (Gary Oldman) is sent for, but immediately warns the townsfolk that the wolf could be lurking within any one of them. As tensions rise, Valerie finds herself at the centre of Solomon's hunt, and discovers that the wolf may be closer than she ever suspected.

Beastly

The 'Beauty and the Beast' legend is retold in present day New York in this fantasy romance starring teen sensation Vanessa Hudgens.
Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is the king of his school, a handsome, popular and privileged young man who cares for nothing beyond appearances. That is until he makes the mistake of singling out an unconventional girl named Kendra (Mary Kate Olsen) for his cruel mockery. But it turns out that Kendra is a witch, and she has the power to ruin Kyle's life. He soon finds himself transformed into a grotesque monster, and can only ever break the spell by finding somebody who will love him despite his looks. Enter Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens), saved from muggers by Kyle and then kept in his home for her own safety. Lindy cares little for looks, but can love blossom before the spell becomes permanent? Or has Kyle's ugliness become more than skin-deep?

Tomorrow When The War Began

Tonight I have been to see Tomorrow When The War Began.
Cut off from their families and friends, eight Australian teenagers stand alone against a terrifying enemy invasion!
Seventeen-year-old Ellie Linton (Caitlin Stasey) goes on an idyllic camping trip with her school mates - Corrie (Rachel Hurd-Wood), Kevin (Lincoln Lewis), Fiona (Phoebe Tonkin), Homer (Deniz Akdeniz), Robyn (Ashleigh Cummings) and Lee (Chris Pang). Returning to their hometown, the teenagers discover something is seriously wrong. Power to the houses has been cut, pets and livestock have been left dead or dying and all the people have vanished. The local showground has been turned into a prison camp and the town's entire population are being held captive by a foreign military force. When the hostile invaders become alerted to the presence of the teenagers, Ellie and her friends - along with a new recruit Chris (Andy Ryan) - decide to fight back!

3D - Rio

This afternoon I have been to see 3D - Rio.
This hilarious 3D animated adventure comes from the team that brought us the 'Ice Age' movies.
Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) is a blue macaw who lives happily with his owner in Minnesota, until it's discovered that Blu is the last male of his species. There is only one known female - her name is Jewel (Anne Hathaway) and she lives in Rio de Janeiro. So Blu must travel to South America to try to win her heart. But when poachers set their sights on Blu and Jewel, looking to make a killing from such valuable birds, the chase is on. As they are pursued, our macaw heroes turn to new friends for help, including the wise toucan Rafael (George Lopez), the dribbling bulldog Luiz (Tracy Morgan), and Nico, a tiny yellow canary (Jamie Foxx). With friends like these, the two desperate fugitives just might have a chance - now if only Blu could learn to fly....
